Metropolitan area

Because of the merger of the wider areas around Nuremberg as metropolitan area, this region was able to seek in the sense of the European Union. Together, the region develops further and an even more dynamic development area is created day by day.

In 1989, former East Germany and West Germany were reunited. The consequent eastern expansion is the reason why Nuremberg moved back into the center of Europe and is now a very good location for trading and economics. The most important branches of this region are writing utensils, electrical engineering, printing industry, medical technology as well as communications. To name but a few: Adidas, Bosch, Datev, Faber Castell, Gfk, Lucent-Technologies, Nürnberger Versicherungsgruppe, Puma, Siemens and many more.
